Hydrated, not filled.

Profhilo in Holborn, London, is an injectable skin booster rather than a filler. Pure hyaluronic acid, at one of the highest concentrations available, is placed at a few points each side of the face and spreads beneath it, improving hydration, tone, texture and fine lines without adding volume. Two 30-minute sessions four weeks apart, from £300 a session. Results show within a few weeks and last around six months.

Who it is for

Who Profhilo suits

Skin that looks dull, dry or tired

When good skincare no longer gives the glow it used to, the skin is often short of hydration deeper than creams can reach. Profhilo places hyaluronic acid where it is needed and the skin looks fresher within a few weeks.

Fine lines and crepey texture

The fine, papery texture that appears on the cheeks, around the mouth and on the neck as collagen declines is where Profhilo does its most noticeable work. It improves elasticity and smooths texture rather than filling individual lines.

Early sagging and ageing skin

Where the skin has started to lose firmness but the structure beneath is unchanged, stimulating collagen and elastin can restore some of the spring. It is a sensible first step before anyone considers anything more involved.

A natural look, with no added volume

Profhilo is for people who want their skin to look well rather than their face to look different. Nothing is reshaped and nothing is plumped. The neck, hands and décolletage can be treated as well as the face.

The difference

What makes the difference

A booster, not a filler

Fillers are thick gels that hold their shape to add volume. Profhilo is a fluid hyaluronic acid that spreads beneath the skin and is absorbed into it, which is why it improves skin quality across an area rather than changing contours.

Five points each side

The product is injected at a small number of mapped points on each side of the face, usually five, chosen so that it flows evenly through the tissue. Fewer injections means less discomfort, less bruising and a quicker appointment.

Collagen and elastin, over weeks

Beyond immediate hydration, Profhilo stimulates the skin to produce its own collagen and elastin. That is why the improvement in tone, texture and elasticity builds over several weeks and is fairly judged a month after the second session.

Seen in person, treated by clinicians who know the face

Dr Tara Khayatpoor and Vaida Vitkeviciute both provide Profhilo, after a free consultation in person. Any anti-wrinkle or jaw-clenching injections, which are prescription-only, are given only after a face-to-face consultation with our prescribing clinician; nothing is prescribed remotely or sold off the shelf.

The process

The course, session by session

01

Consultation

A free consultation to look at your skin, discuss what you would like to improve, take photographs and go through your medical history. We confirm Profhilo is the right choice and give you a written quote for the course.

02

First session

A 30-minute appointment. The skin is cleaned and the injection points marked, then the product is placed at each point with a fine needle. Small raised bumps at the points settle within a few hours.

03

Second session, four weeks later

The second session completes the course and is what sustains the collagen and elastin response. By now the first improvement in hydration is usually visible, and we photograph the skin again for comparison.

04

Maintenance

Results last around six months. A single maintenance session every six to nine months usually keeps the skin where the course left it, and we agree the timing with you rather than booking it by default.

Afterwards

Aftercare

Expect small bumps at the injection points for a few hours and possibly a little redness or a small bruise. Avoid make-up, heavy exercise, alcohol and heat such as saunas or steam rooms for the rest of the day, and do not massage the area. Normal skincare resumes the next morning. The glow arrives gradually over the following weeks rather than overnight.

Good to know

The questions we are asked most

How much does Profhilo cost in London?+

Profhilo at Sardinia House in Holborn is from £300 per session, and a course of two sessions four weeks apart is recommended. That is a guide fee; the exact figure is written into your quote after a free consultation.

Is Profhilo a filler?+

No. Profhilo is a skin booster made from pure hyaluronic acid at one of the highest concentrations available. It spreads beneath the skin to improve hydration, tone and elasticity rather than staying in place to add volume, so it refreshes the skin without changing the shape of the face.

Does Profhilo hurt, and is there downtime?+

Only a handful of injection points are used on each side, so most people find it more comfortable than they expected and describe a brief sting. Small bumps settle within hours and any bruising is minor. Most people return to work the same day.

How long does Profhilo last?+

Around six months after a course of two sessions. The improvement is visible within a few weeks and builds as the skin produces new collagen and elastin. A maintenance session every six to nine months usually keeps the result.

Which areas can be treated?+

The face is the most common, and the neck, hands and décolletage respond well too. These are the areas where thin, crepey or dehydrated skin shows most, and where improving skin quality rather than volume makes the clearest difference.

Do I need a consultation, and can I combine Profhilo with anti-wrinkle injections?+

Yes to both. Every course starts with a free consultation in person. Profhilo pairs well with anti-wrinkle injections, which address lines of expression while Profhilo addresses skin quality, but anti-wrinkle injections are prescription-only and are provided only after a face-to-face consultation with our prescribing clinician. Nothing is prescribed remotely.

Is Profhilo suitable for me?+

It suits most adults with dull, dry or ageing skin, early sagging or fine lines who want a natural result without added volume. We do not treat during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or where there is an active skin infection, and we check your medical history at the consultation.

Can Profhilo go wrong, and what are the side effects?+

Side effects are usually minor: small bumps at the injection points that settle within a few hours, and occasionally some bruising that fades within a week. Because Profhilo is hyaluronic acid rather than a volumising filler, lumps that persist are rare. Treatment at Sardinia House is carried out by a dentist or dental therapist with full consent and aftercare instructions.

Do you offer polynucleotides, Sunekos or Profhilo Structura?+

Not at present. Profhilo is the skin booster we offer, alongside anti-wrinkle injections and jaw-clenching treatment. If another product would suit you better, we will say so at your free consultation.
