Guide fees

Guide fees published. Exact fees in writing.

Our guide fees are published in full below. Where a price reads from or shows a range, the final figure depends on the type and complexity of the treatment, and your written plan will confirm it before anything starts. Sardinia House is a private practice; we do not offer NHS treatment.

How payment works

Your written plan

Your assessment ends with a treatment plan in writing, setting out the options and the exact fees. It stays valid for 30 days, and treatment begins only once you have agreed it.

Payment

You can pay by card (including American Express), Apple Pay or bank transfer. Payment is taken in advance to secure longer appointments.

Finance

Finance through our partner Tabeo is available for treatment from £1,000 to £30,000, subject to status, for applicants over 18. There are no 0% plans at present; the rates and terms are shown when you apply, which takes a few minutes online.

LSE staff and students

Discounts of up to 30–40% on most routine treatments with a valid LSE ID. See the LSE page for details.

Plans and policies

Plans, payment and appointments

Dental plans: Denplan, Cigna, Bupa and others+

We welcome patients on Denplan and Cigna schemes and those with dental insurance through Bupa, Simply Health and others. Depending on the plan, these patients receive discounts of up to 20% on certain treatments. Hygienist, cosmetic, complex and specialist treatment may not be discounted, and your plan provider will tell you what portion of a fee they reimburse.

Please tell the team who your insurer is before your appointment. Discounts are applied when your plan is written and cannot be added afterwards.

Payment is made to the practice in advance as usual, and you then reclaim it from your insurer through their own process.

Cancellation policy+

If an appointment time stops suiting you, we are happy to change it with 48 hours' notice. That notice lets us offer the time to someone who may need urgent care.

Missed appointments and late cancellations cost the practice, you and the patient who could have been seen in that time. Without 48 hours' notice, or if you do not arrive for a booked appointment, a fee of £50 per half hour of clinical time lost applies. We understand that illness and emergencies cannot be helped and take genuine circumstances into account.

The reason for publishing this is simple: we would rather you never had to pay it. Email is the easiest way to let us know, and the earlier the better.

Payment policy+

Payment for each treatment is taken in advance to secure the appointment. We accept Apple Pay, debit and credit cards, American Express and bank transfer.

Treatment between £1,000 and £30,000 can be paid for in instalments through Tabeo, subject to a credit check; let us know before your visit if you would like to use it. We do not offer 0% finance at present.

Your plan and its fees come to you in writing first and hold good for 30 days. If a plan needs to change part-way through, so may the cost. If that happens the team will tell you and ask how you would like to proceed.

Failure to attend policy+

As a central London private practice with a waiting list, we keep missed appointments to a minimum with the following policy for all patients.

You stay registered with us for two years, and most people are advised to come back for a review every six to twelve months, as your dentist or hygienist suggests. After two years without a visit you may need to re-register via our waiting list.

If you miss an appointment, or cancel inside 48 hours, we charge £50 for each half hour of surgery time lost, and that is settled before another appointment is made. If two or more appointments are missed we are no longer able to see you as a patient.

Denplan appointments: a missed appointment cannot be rebooked and is deducted from the plan allowance. For a missed hygiene appointment, the patient may either pay the failure-to-attend fee or forfeit that visit's allowance, at the practice's discretion. We reserve the right to refuse further appointments.

Denplan membership+

Denplan Care is a monthly payment plan that covers most routine and restorative private care from your registered dentist, so there are fewer unexpected bills.

Typically included: check-ups and examinations, routine X-rays and intra-oral scans, simple cleans with your dentist, necessary fillings and extractions, preventive advice, and major treatment such as crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays and dentures (laboratory fees are usually charged separately).

Typically excluded or charged extra: laboratory fees and prescriptions, hygienist and periodontal treatment, cosmetic treatment such as whitening and veneers, specialist treatment and referral fees, dental implants, sedation, CBCT scans, wisdom tooth removal, specialist root canal treatment, late cancellation or failure-to-attend fees, and anything specifically excluded in your contract.

Denplan's supplementary insurance adds dental injury cover, temporary emergency treatment when away from home or abroad, a 24-hour worldwide emergency helpline, a hospital cash payment for an overnight stay under a maxillofacial surgeon, and mouth cancer cover. Cover is valid only if you attend for regular check-ups as advised and follow treatment recommendations in good time.

Good to know

The questions we are asked most

How much is a private dental check-up in London?+

Your first assessment at Sardinia House is £125; routine health checks thereafter are £110; any X-rays we need are £30 apiece. A hygienist appointment is from £100 and an emergency appointment is £125. Every check-up includes a digital scan shown on screen.

Why are the prices shown as from, and will I get a written quote?+

Published prices are guide fees, because the final figure depends on the size of a filling, the material of a crown or the number of teeth involved. Once examined, you are given a written plan setting out the fees for your own case. It holds good for 30 days, and we begin only when you say so.

How can I pay?+

You can pay by card (including American Express), Apple Pay or bank transfer. Payment is taken in advance to secure longer appointments, and the amount is the figure on your written plan.

Do you offer finance or monthly payment plans?+

Yes. Finance through our partner Tabeo is available for treatment from £1,000 to £30,000, subject to status, for applicants over 18. There are no 0% plans at present; the rates and terms are shown when you apply online, which takes a few minutes, and the team can help you set it up before treatment starts.

Do you accept dental insurance or plans such as Denplan or Bupa?+

Yes. We welcome patients on Denplan and Cigna and those insured with Bupa, Simply Health and others, with discounts of up to 20% on certain treatments depending on the plan. Tell the team who your insurer is before your appointment, as discounts are applied when your plan is written. Payment is made to the practice as usual and you then reclaim it from your insurer.

What is your cancellation policy?+

If you need to move or cancel an appointment, please let us know at least 48 hours ahead, so the time can go to another patient. Without that notice, or if you do not arrive, a fee of £50 per half hour of clinical time lost applies. Illness and emergencies cannot be helped, and we take genuine circumstances into account.

Do LSE staff and students pay less?+

Yes. With a valid LSE ID, staff and students receive discounts of up to 30–40% on most routine treatments, with check-ups from £50 and hygiene from £135. Cosmetic, complex and some hygienist treatments are charged at our standard guide fees.
