The practice began with two dentists and a belief that private dentistry could be both exacting and kind. It grew by recommendation: a patient's colleague, then their family, then the chambers down the road. For more than twenty years it has also looked after the staff and students of the LSE, whose campus surrounds us.
Around fifteen years ago the practice settled into Sardinia House on Lincoln's Inn Fields, the building whose Roman lettering gives us our name. It is a quiet, handsome place to come to, between Holborn and Aldwych, and it suits the way we work.
Dr Amit Patel leads the practice today as Clinical Director. Under him it became a restorative and aesthetic practice with a digital spine: a scan at every appointment, milling and 3D printing on site, treatment designed on screen before it is carried out. Between them, our clinicians now have more than a hundred years of experience.
The family has grown too. Widegate House opened in Spitalfields for the City, Bellevue Dental joined in Wandsworth, and Building Better teaches other dentists the way we work. Sardinia House is House 01: the standard the others were built to.
