We are providing Virtual Appointments for patients during this difficult Covid-19 Lockdown:

Update 28th May 2020

We welcome the Prime Minister’s news of allowing Dental Practice’s to reopen and we will hopefully be re-opening our doors once again on the 8th June 2020. Please be aware this will be on a pre-approved appointment only basis to begin with.

As further guidance is being filtered down daily, we are aware that the reopening will be phased to allow a safe return to work and we will be working on phasing in certain treatment as per the advise handed to us. This may result in some appointments being rescheduled in the first two weeks of opening.

We will be working firstly on booking in patients that have contacted us during the closure and prioritising emergency treatments that have been triaged.

If you have an outstanding concern that we are already aware of, please be assured that has not changed and please wait for us to contact you in due course.

Patients with any appointments that require to be rescheduled will be contacted from the 2nd of June.

For all other enquiries please contact the practice or continue to book in a virtual appointment.

Once again the whole practice would like to relay our thanks to all our patients during this difficult time. We appreciated your patience with the situation and we hope to see you all soon!

Update: 22nd March 2020 11:54

We would like to assure all of our patients that Sardinia House Dental Practice is aware of and follows all current government advice for healthcare professionals and primary dental healthcare settings during the COVID 19 pandemic. You will appreciate that as a dental practice we work in an environment where the prevention of the spread of a whole range of infections is woven into everything that we do. Nevertheless, we are paying particular attention to the latest government guidance on the transmission of coronavirus. All staff are aware that they must self-isolate and remain away from the practice in the event that they experience symptoms or have been in contact with anyone who has had symptoms of respiratory tract illness.

Clinical sterilisation and disinfection procedures will of course continue at our normal high standard as a routine as per HTM01-05 guidelines. We have also increased timed and documented disinfection of non-clinical areas, door handles, bathrooms and public areas in the practice. You may notice that we have removed some non-essential items in the reception area. They will return once this is all over.

We will continue, as always, to request that you complete / update your Medical History at each visit and information on your current risk status before attending the practice. It is even more vital that this is carried out in advance.

PLEASE THOROUGHLY WASH AND DRY YOUR HANDS AND USE THE PROVIDED HAND SANITISER AS SOON AS YOU ATTEND THE PRACTICE.

Please let us know if you have:

  • any symptoms of respiratory tract illness whatsoever
  • an elevated temperature (your temperature will be checked when you attend the practice)
  • a persistent cough,  shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • unexplained tiredness or lethargy
  • muscular aches
  • you have travelled abroad in the last 14 days
  • been in close contact with someone exhibiting any of the above or with confirmed Coronavirus infection.

Please check the government’s gov.uk website (links below) for the latest COVID-19 information and advice which will be updated regularly.

You may need to call NHS 111 for further advice before making or attending your appointment.

We understand the concerns of our patients that the dental surgery may be a high risk area. Until government and professional advice to the contrary, patient care and scheduled appointments continue as normal this week. However IT IS LIKELY THAT THE CLINIC WILL NEED TO BE CLOSED IN THE NEAR FUTURE after 27th March or perhaps sooner if circumstances necessitate to reduce overall contact frequency between all staff, patients and the general public during travel to and from the practice as infection rates increase. We will still be providing Emergency care and this may initially be triaged via phone, email or video calls in an attempt to provide pain relief with or without an appointment.

If you would like to bring forward your scheduled treatment, please let us know as soon as possible this week on [email protected] or telephoning 0207 404 8600 and we will do our best to arrange a suitable appointment for treatment this week.

We are currently reviewing guidelines on a hourly basis and will notify any patients as soon as we can with any any changes that may affect appointments or treatments.

We are also anticipating self isolation may not allow patients to attend, and have set up options to video call and carry out remote consultations where necessary.

Please see below for further information

Last Updated 18th March 2020

Many treatments have been brought forward and we are currently working extra hours to accommodate for this, incase of any future changes on guidelines or lockdown announcements from the government.

Invisalign Patients:

Rest assured, whilst business is as usual we will continue seeing yourselves as planned. Should guidelines change or you find yourself to be in self isolation, please get in touch as we will have contingency measures to work through your case remotely. This may involve remote monitoring, shipment of aligners, or other measures which we will assess on a case by case basis. We apologise if this may result in a small delay in your treatment, which is out of our hands, however please trust that we will not leave patients in the unknown and have planned a handle on all cases on our end. We thank you for your patience in this difficult time for everyone. Stay safe!

Routine Treatments:

We would like to assure all of our patients that Sardinia House Dental Practice is aware of and follows all current government advice for healthcare professionals and primary dental healthcare settings. All staff are aware that they must self-isolate and remain away from the practice in the event that they experience symptoms or have been in contact with anyone who has had symptoms of respiratory tract illness.

Clinical sterilisation and disinfection procedures will of course continue at our normal high standard as a routine. We have also increased disinfection of non-clinical areas, door handles, bathrooms and public areas in the practice. Further protocols will involve requesting hand sanitising on entry and exit of the surgery as well as increased mouthwash pre and post appointments. These will be provided to you at the practice. We ask to refrain bringing additional friends or family when not required to the appointment.

We will continue, as always, to request your up-to-date medical history at each visit and information on your current risk status before attending the practice. If you have travelled abroad in the last 14 days or been in close contact with someone with confirmed Coronavirus please check the government’s gov.uk website (links below) for the latest COVID-19 travel advice. You may need to call NHS 111 for further advice before making or attending your appointment.

Until government and professional advice to the contrary, patient care and scheduled appointments are continuing as normal.

All we ask is that you contact us if:

– You have travelled to high-risk countries in the last 14 days.

– You have been told by the NHS or your employer to self-isolate.

– You feel ill or display a cough, fever or temperature.

– You have been in contact with anyone with flu-like symptoms.

– You believe to be in a high risk group

We want to be as safe as possible so we can continue to treat you all, as you and your oral health are important to us.
